Months 4 - 6

Month 4 (14-17/40)
Now most of your baby’s organs are formed and your baby continues to grow, increasing in size and weight. At around 16 weeks it will have eyelids, toes and fingernails. Your baby is active and has a routine of sleeping and playing, it is able to suck and swallow amniotic fluid. Its senses are developing as now it can detect sound and light. At the end of 4 months you may even start to feel movements.

Month 5 (18-22/40)
Your uterus has grown to around your umbilicus by 20 weeks and from now onwards will grow 1 cm, in height, each week. The 20 week scan may even show the sex of your baby (remember to ask if you want to know). Movements become more noticeable and the size of your Bump does too. It is revealing itself and people will start to notice that you are pregnant.

Month 6 (23-27/40)
Now your fetus is about a foot or 30 cm long. Its eyes blink and ears can hear so if you have not already stated to talk and sing to your Bump now is a good time to start. Your ante-natal check-ups become more regular now (2-3 weekly).
