Some general milestones.
These are the approximate ages when your child will start to develop new skills.
Newborn Blinks or quietens to sound
0-1 month Soft gurgling noises when spoken to
1-3 months Turns to sound at ear level
1½-5 months Squeals
3½-7½ months Turns towards voices
6-10 months Says ‘Dada’ or ‘Mama’ to everyone
10-15 months Says ‘Dada’ or ‘Mama’ to parents
12-20 months 3 words as well as 'Dada' and 'Mama'
14-24 months Puts 2 words together
2-4 years Gives first and last name
