Gross Motor Skills

Some general milestones.

These are the approximate ages when your child will start to develop new skills.

0-6 weeks               Head lags behind when pulled to sitting position

4-6 weeks               Momentary head held up when sitting

2- 4½months           Rolls over

4½-7½ months       Sits alone

6-10 months            Pulls self up to stand

7-13 months            Walks holding furniture

11-14 months         Walks alone

12-20 months         Jumps with feet together

14-20 months         Kicks a ball

18-38 months         Pedals a tricycle

2-5 years                 Hops and skips

6 years                    Skips on both feet
